What A Week Of XBMC For Xbox History…
Well, it’s official. The Xbox is on it’s own now and I can’t see this being a bad thing although on reading the “Official Announcement”, I must say it did feel a little like a child leaving home for the first time but I believe it is more like a family pushing “The Father” out of his home. On the up side I see our site swell in numbers and all indications show this will continue. Another up side is XBMC Xbox development will continue on it’s own dedicated path, not being hindered by the other platforms as has been the case for some time now. I have seen 3 milestones of member numbers since becoming editor them being our 50th, 100th and 150th and by far the fastest being 100 to 150 for obvious reasons. To all our members, I would like to say, Thank you for making XBMC4Xbox your source for all things regarding Xbox and XBMC.

I am excited. I love seeing arnova make commits ot our xbox version! cant wait to see what becomes of this! I want a stripped down made just for xbox version of xbmc, we don’t need all the bells and whistles! Concentraste on memory and picture and audio quality. put back kai link. putback shortcuts, do whatever you think is best for this build. I look forward to what you all come up with!

Yes, I totally agree Jarod, I think the requests on what is best run as a “Media Player” are sometimes a case of, “Look what I can do”, rather than, Gee, “I use that a lot”. I believe the future is in Pluggins and Scripts that allow the individual to “Custom Build” what they want there machine to do. Skins also have a huge future as people like to “Customize the appearance of XBMC” making it unique to there taste.

looking forward to any xbox specific customizations we can have now that we do not have to keep locked in step with other xbmc platforms. I do think there should be some discussion about what to include and more importantly what to leave out.
If other older builds where better on memory andspeed. We should strive for that and bug fixes. I think a limited defined featureset with like you mentioned, scripts and plugins that are maintained and work, would be best.
I would love ot see some new skins. I want to learn skinning as well. Jezz_X knew how to code ofr xbox, his skins run so well. others get bogged down. I think skins like elipsis could be coded in a way that would run so well on xbox and still look almost the same. Maybe flatter, less layers, less transparency, or whatever it is that bogs it down.
I have high hopes for the PMIII Fanart edition and hope it becomes the default skin included with xbmc4xbox!
